Boy George sentenced to 15 months in prison

Tbdboygeorge011909 The judge in Boy George's assault trial apparently really wanted to hurt him, sentencing the '80s oddity to 15 months in prison for handcuffing a 29-year-old Norwegian male escort to a bed and beating him with a chain. Who'd think that was something the law would frown upon?

Judge David Radford told George O'Dowd, who was convicted of false imprisonment last year, that he was guilty of "wholly gratuitous violence beyond that needed merely to secure physical restraint and detention," and must be punished accordingly, the U.K.'s Sun reports.

"In my view there can be no doubt that your premeditated callous and humiliating handcuffing and detention of Mr. (Audun) Carlsen shocked, degraded and traumatized him," Radford said. "He was deprived of his liberty and human dignity without warning or proper explanation to him of its purpose, length or purported justification."

To George, the justification was accusing Carlsen of stealing photos from a laptop after a shoot when the pair met three months earlier. Carlsen, 29, had managed to escape in his underwear and told the cops, which pretty much used up the poor man's last ounce of shame.
