If you've ever wondered why The Juice* doesn't follow the myriad stories that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are breaking up, this is why: The couple have won an undisclosed settlement from News of the World over a January story saying they were separating and making custody arrangements for their 103 children. Got to love those British libel laws.

The couple's lawyers said News Group Newspapers had accepted that their story was "false and intrusive," the BBC reports. The real problem boiled down to the fact that the lawyer Jolie allegedly contact in December 2009, Sorrell Trope, said that he'd never met the couple. Kind of hard to start legal proceedings if that were the case.

"I have never met ... your clients or had any involvement with either of them," Trope wrote in a letter. "The foregoing is true with respect to all other members of this firm."

News of the World agreed Thursday morning to print an apology and pay legal costs and damages, which the couple plan on funneling to their Jolie-Pitt Foundation. Who says newspapers don't matter anymore?
