'Bridalplasty' pits brides-to-be in competition for plastic surgery
The bastard child of Bridezillas and Extreme Makeover is upon us, heralding the fall of civilization as we know it. Yes, E! is ordering a new reality series about brides-to-be who will compete for extreme plastic surgery. The title's the best part: Bridalplasty. Please, sweet maker, let it end now.
Contestants will take on challenges such as writing wedding vows and planning honeymoons, the Hollywood Reporter says, with one being voted off each week until a winner gets her own dream wedding. That includes getting her face cut, which will be revealed to family and friends at the altar. That sounds like the biggest potential disaster since Coke changed formulas.
Who do we have to blame for this travesty? Why, producer Giuliana Rancic and 51 Minds' Mark Cronin and Cris Abrego, the same folks who brought us The Surreal Life and Rock of Love. So the question remains: Are these shows bringing us that much closer to Idiocracy, or are we already there and TV is just catching up? We'll know when Ow My Balls! has a pilot.
