Bristol Palin, Levi Johnston got engaged
We're breaking our political neutrality rule once again to bring you word that Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston not only have stopped fighting, but rumors about them reconciling are true. In fact, the pair are getting married. Is late better than never for hardcore conservatives?
"We got engaged two weeks ago," Bristol, 19, tells Us. "It felt right, even though we don’t have the approval of our parents." They'll be overjoyed to learn that you're financing Tripp's rearing by selling your story to a glossy, then.
"I really thought we were over," Levi adds. "So when I went, I had no hope. I think we both just started talking — and then we took Tripp for a walk." That was enough for Bristol, who says, "When he left that night, we didn’t hug or kiss, but I was thinking how different it was. He texted me: 'I miss you. I love you. I want to be with you again' ... I was in shock."
Well, it's easy to miss your semi-lebrity baby mama when you've got absolutely no other career choices. Whether or not this is gonna fly with mama Sarah was up in the air: "It is intimidating and scary just to think about what her reaction is going to be," Bristol says. "Hopefully she will jump on board."
What resulted was a terse statement on the Today show from the Palins.
"Bristol at 19 is now a young adult. We obviously want what's best for our children. Bristol believes in redemption and forgiveness to a degree most of us struggle to put in practice in our daily lives."
In other words, we still hate Levi, but it's her problem now. Who wants to go snow machining?
