Britney Spears owes taxes, Tyler Perry sued, Casey Anthony trial on Lifetime
Today's quick legal roundup finds that Britney Spears and Kevin Federline may have divorced several years ago, but they still owe the state of California $37,712.71 in back taxes from 2004, the year they got married, TMZ reports. We're pretty sure Brit can pay her half, but as for K-Fed, we don't think Jack in the Box will be able to cover that.
Tyler Perry, meanwhile, has been sued in Philadelphia by author Terri Donald, who is claiming the plot his movie Good Deeds was stolen from her 2007 novel Bad Apples Can Be Good Fruit, WENN says. She wants $225,000 and her name in the movie's credits, because there's no Perry could have thought of a wealthy man meeting a single mom all on his own.
And in case anyone wanted to watch the Lifetime movie about Casey Anthony's trial, Prosecuting Casey Anthony, the AP notes it's gotten a release date. Imperfect Justice, starring Rob Lowe as prosecutor Jeff Ashton, will premiere Jan. 19 at 8 p.m., just to give you an alternative to NFL playoffs. Spolier alert: She gets off at the end.
