Britney Spears walks off stage in Vancouver
It's good to know Britney Spears really is trying to stay off the weed (because we're all pretty sure she's done a few drugs in her day). In fact, she's so disciplined that she apparently walked off the stage in Vancouver on Wednesday because she smelled the wacky tobaccy (they claim cigarettes, officially) -- a mere 15 minutes and three songs into her performance.
The city's GM Place was dark with hockey game intermission music piped into the arena, presumably while Brit's handlers tried to convince her she needed to return to the stage. Eventually, a P.A. announcement was made: "The building is awfully smoky. It is uncomfortable for everyone on stage, including Ms. Spears. Please extinguish all cigarettes – this is a non-smoking building, and the show will resume when the smoke on the stage is cleared,"the Vancouver Sun reported.
Brit did come back after about 30 minutes, sang a couple songs and left the stage again before finally concluding with Womanizer, after which she announced to the crowd, "Drive safe, don't smoke weed and rock out with your c---s out. Peace out motherf---ers!" (Watch it above, but beware naughty words.)
A statement on her Web site read: "We want to apologize to all the fans who attended our Vancouver show tonight for the brief pause in Britney's set. Crew members above the stage became ill due to a ventilation issue." That ventilation issue was apparently getting the paint fumes out of Brit's head.
