Brittany Snow blames bullying for anorexia, depression
Gaither High grad and actress Brittany Snow is speaking out on bullying, admitting her Tampa Bay days weren't all sunshine and happiness.
"When I was younger, I was bullied daily, and it led me to face other struggles," she told TheFrisky.com. "I know what it’s like to feel alone and outcast." Her interview was part of a PR campaign for the national anti-bullying campaign "Love is Louder," and boy, can she relate.
"When I was in middle school and high school, there was definitely a girl who was a bully who went as far as sending a note every day of different ways of how to kill myself, making dances about me and performing them in the lunchroom, putting them on fliers and throwing them around school, hitting me and throwing things at me," she said. "Every day. It was not just really good times. And that led me to have many other struggles later on, especially mental health issues that I've shared about at different times. It really did shape a lot of my growing up and how I thought about myself later on."
Sure, she's battled depression and anorexia since, but hey, Brittany, they say living well is the best revenge. While you were starring in Prom Night and Hairspray, that girl was probably shoveling fries behind the counter at some fast food joint.
