Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel will headline Hurricane Sandy benefit on NBC
A few stars are aligning to help out victims of Hurricane Sandy during a Friday night benefit set to air on NBC-affiliated networks, NBCUniversal has announced. And since it's New Jersey, you know Bruce Springsteen is involved.
Springstreen, Christina Aguilera, Billy Joel, Sting and Jon Bon Jovi will perform on Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together, a one-hour benefit from the 30 Rock studios airing at 8 p.m. on NBC, E!, CNBC, MSNBC, Style, SyFy and G4, the Hollywood Reporter says. Brian Williams and Jimmy Fallon also will appear, and Matt Lauer will host. It also will be simultaneously live-streamed on NBC.com.
Donations from the one-hour telethon will benefit the American Red Cross and its Sandy relief efforts. With a bill like that, you'd think they'd budget more than just an hour.
