Bruno Mars avoids jail time for felony cocaine charge
Bruno Mars has managed to worm his way out of a criminal conviction for his September cocaine arrest in Vegas. Oh Bruno, you stay just the way you are.
TMZ reports the Clark County D.A. agreed to deferred adjudication, meaning Mars has only to stay clean for 12 months and do some community service, thereby avoiding a drug conviction on his record. You can thank celebrity superattorney Blair Berk for that sleight of hand.
Mars was arrested at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino after a bathroom attendant reported him doing coke in a stall. Besides 200 hours of community service, Bruno will also undergo counseling. After 12 months, the felony will be dismissed. Whether this apparent cocaine habit sticks around is a completely different story.
