Cameron Douglas gets a mere 5 years for dealing meth

Did we mention that Michael Douglas' son Cameron caught a break Tuesday by getting only half of a 10-year minimum sentence for dealing meth and cocaine? No? yeah, because we don't care, either.

The younger Douglas apparently benefited from letters to the federal judge from his dad and his 93-year-old grandpa Kirk, who pleaded for leniency. Michael himself gave a statement apologizing for putting his family though "this nightmare of my making" and asking for "an opportunity to be a productive family member and a good role model to my brothers and sisters," CBS News reports.

It must have worked, given the lax sentence, but Judge Richard Berman pointed out he thought it was likely the 31-year-old would get back into drugs once released, and should quit thinking of himself as a victim. But how else will he identify with Generation X?
