Casey Affleck settles sexual harassment suits

Casey Affleck has settled two sexual harassment lawsuits brought against him by two women who worked on his documentary I'm Still Here with his borther-in-law Joaquin Phoenix. With any luck, that's in the movie, too.

Affleck's lawyer says suits "have been resolved to the mutual satisfaction of the parties," the BBC reports. Cinematographer Magdalena Gorka sued for $2.25 million in July, claiming Casey (Ben's younger brother) got into bed with her while she slept. That same month, producer Amanda White sued him for $2 million, saying Casey refused to pay her salary because she wouldn't spend the night in a hotel with him.

Affleck's lawyers denied the allegations, calling them an extortion scene. If we were really cynical, which we are, we'd call it just another marketing stunt for Phoenix's movie, the factuality of which we still doubt.
