Celebrity Rehab's Mike Starr from Alice in Chains arrested in SLC
Another pet project of Dr. Drew Pinsky has fallen off the wagon, with former Alice in Chains bassist Mike Starr getting arrrest for possession in Salt Lake City. Too bad Mike was just on a show talking about Celebrity Rehab alumni who had straightened out.
Starr was arrested for felony possession back on Thursday morning for carrying an unmarked bottle of prescription pills (6 Xanax and 6 Opana, a painkiller), TMZ reports. He was held on a $20,000 bond because he didn't have a prescription for either drug. Starr was on the third season of Celebrity Rehab in 2009, when he spent a lot of time pacing and staring down the camera crew.
The police report says Starr told the arresting cop "Hey officer, have you heard of Alice in Chains? I used to be the base [sic] guitarist for them. We are down here in Utah. Me and Travis are putting together a new band." That would be even more reason to be suspicious, we think.
