Charlie Brown and the 'Peanuts' gang getting another movie
It's been 32 years since Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown (and Don't Come Back!!), so it's high time Charles M. Schulz's legendary Peanuts characters returned to the big screen, don't you think? The suits at 20th Century Fox certainly thinks so, so prepare for another full-length feature in theaters by Nov. 25, 2015. Finally, a sequel to the Thanksgiving special!
The L.A. Times says Schulz's family reached a deal with the studio to bring back the gang in a story by Cornelius Uliano, Charles' son Craig Schulz and grandson Bryan Schulz. The film -- the fifth animated feature for the comic strip characters after A Boy Named Charlie Brown; Snoopy Come Home; Race For Your Life, Charlie Brown; and Bon Voyage -- will be directed by Steve Martino, who directed Ice Age: Continental Drift and Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who.
"We have been working on this project for years," Craig Schulz, who serves as president of Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates, told the paper. "We finally felt the time was right and the technology is where we need it to be to create this film." Citing technology as being int he right place sounds ominous. Apparently they needed more than the ink and paper used back in 1969.
