Charlie Sheen, Brooke Mueller file for divorce
Living on the East Coast has its drawbacks -- hurricanes, late World Series games, New Jersey -- but the worst is getting celeb news too late for tbt*'s deadlines. That's why we're telling you today that Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller filed for divorce on Monday. Oh, you already thought they'd done that, huh? We did, too.
Just a week after allegedly trashing a New York hotel room while a naked porn star cowered in the bathroom, the 45-year-old actor is seeking joint physical and legal custody of the couple's two, 1 1/2-year-old twins, Bob and Max, People reports. Mueller wants primary physical, but joint legal custody.
Papers filed in L.A. cite irreconcilable differences, if you want to call drunken death threats and constant rehab stints differences. The date of separation was listed as last Dec. 25, when Charlie was arrested for holding a knife to Brooke's throat at their Aspen home.
TMZ has the property settlement, which was signed back in May, showing that Brooke will get $55,000 a month in child support. There's also a stipulation that she not get less than ex-wife Denise Richards gets for her two daughters with Charlie, Sam and Lola. Mueller also gets a cash gift of almost $758,000, and $1 million so that Sheen can keep their family house. What is that, like one episode of Two and a Half Men for him?
