Charlie Sheen donating at least $1 million to the USO
Charlie Sheen definitely seems to be on the road to recovery, since he's just announced he's donating at least $1 million to the United Service Organization to entertain the troops. That should at least partially make up for Anger Management.
"It's an honor for me to be able to give back to these men and women of the military who have done so much for all of us," Sheen said in a statement, according to the New York Daily News. "They put their lives on the line for us every day, and I'm just happy that my work on Anger Management can bring a little bit of relief to the troops and their families." Well, so much for our theory.
The money is slated to help the USO's Operation Enduring Care initiative, which is building two USO centers for sick and injured soldiers at Walter Reed Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., and Fort Belvoir, Va. He's planning on making the first $250,000 installment, and promises 1 percent of the profits from his FX show. Guess that means we should watch it, huh? That Chuck, he's tricky.
