Charlie Sheen officially doing 'Anger Management' sitcom

Try as we might to ignore anything related to Charlie Sheen, he's got a new TV pilot coming to the small screen, so like it or not, we'll have to enter it into the record. Get ready for Anger Management this fall -- yes, based on the Jack Nicholson/Adam Sandler movie from 2003. Groundbreaking!

"I chose Anger Management because, while it might be a big stretch for me to play a guy with serious anger management issues, I think it is a great concept," Sheen said in a press release (he'll be playing Nicholson's shouty counselor, if you must know). "It also provides me with real ownership in the series, a certain amount of creative control and the chance to be back in business with one of my favorite movie producers of all time, Joe Roth."

Now remember, this is just a pilot, and it's not as if the show is a done deal. Analyst Bill Carroll of Katz Media told the AP the show may start on a cable network, then go into syndication, like Ice Cube's Are We There Yet?, Tyler Perry's House of Payne and Meet the Browns. And look how popular all those TBS shows are!
