Charlie Sheen talks about kids being removed on 'Today'; wife alleges he knocked her unconscious
While all of us on the Gulf Coast settled into a long night of dreaming about Oscars ceremonies hosted by Billy Crystal, Charlie Sheen was having his kids taken away from him by his estranged wife Brooke Mueller, just because she says he threatened to kill her again. Note we say "again."
TMZ reported Charlie threatened Brooke by saying, "I will cut your head off, put it in a box and send it to your mom." Brooke responded Tuesday by getting a restraining order and having twin boys Bob and Max removed from the home, which authorities did that night. Charlie, natch, had to go on TV to talk about it, which he did first thing in the morning.
"They were just being put to bed, and my assistant informed me that the police were coming down to issue a restraining order," Sheen told Today's Jeff Rossen (watch the interview above). "I didn't push it because I'm not into resisting the law and just had to surrender to it, knowing that this is now the challenge I claim to be looking for, and I'm more than willing to take on this task. If anyone thought my focus was direct in a radical capacity, that's going to seem like child's play."
How ominous. Sheen, of course, denies saying he'd kill Brooke by cutting off her head, calling it "colorful and saying, "That's a good one I guess. I guess if you spend enough time around me you can formulate things and make them sound like they came from my mouth. You can do that watching reruns."
The court papers are a little more detailed than that, with Mueller saying he was getting increasingly violent before holding a knife to her throat on Christmas 2009.
"In October 2009, (Sheen) knocked me to the floor causing me to hit my head on the corner of a couch. I was knocked unconscious and required medical attention, including a CAT scan," she wrote, according to People. She says she had photos, two witnesses and a written apology from her husband. Not only that, but she had a text message that apparently referred to her manager, Mark Burg, as a "stoopid jew pig" Sheen must "execute." We're a little beyond jokes here, Internet.
Sheen said he didn't know where his kids were now, but he expected the case to be settled soon, defending his house (where "goddesses" Rachel Oberlin, a porn actress, and model Natalie Kenly, both 24, are staying with him) by declaring, "There's more love, compassion, support, childcare and everything else you could possibly want for a child here in this lovely home -- it's not a house, it's a home."
So those twin boys, who are almost 2, were with him during all the hooker parties and coke binges we've been hearing about? And these 24-year-olds help raise the kids? No wonder Brooke demanded a court order. L.A. County ought to start digging a moat around Sheen's house today. Right now. ASAP. And hurry.
