Charlie Sheen's lawyers want to have statements barred
If you've been arrested as many times as Charlie Sheen has, you know the routine pretty well. Maybe that's why he's trying to get his statements to police barred from court in his domestic abuse trial, claiming he wasn't read his Miranda rights. You know that Charlie, he's a real stickler for the rules. We don't even care about the rumors he's cheating on his wife.
TMZ says that when Sheen detained by cops in Aspen on Christmas day, he admitted to breaking Brooke Mueller's eyeglasses, among other things, resulting in the charges against him. Now his lawyers want those little details kept out of court because Charlie just plain didn't know his rights were being violated.
Not only that, but the defense wants the personnel file of Officer Valerie McFarlane, the cop who interviewed Brooke. Sheen's team thinks Brooke changed her story and they want details from the prosecution. Complicating matters is the fact that McFarlane was fired not long after the December incident for using her position to get concert tickets, which the PD apparently frowns upon. Because no one likes people who use their status to get special treatment.
