Christina Aguilera is sorry for ruining 'Star Spangled Banner' at the Super Bowl
Because we like to drag minor mistakes out as long as possible in order to maintain our readership, we're waiting until now to reveal that Christina Aguilera has apologized for screwing up The Star Spangled Banner before Sunday's Super Bowl. She must have been thinking about the barbecue in the luxury suite.
"I got so caught up in the moment of the song that I lost my place," the 30-year-old said in a statement. "I can only hope that everyone could feel my love for this country and that the true spirit of its anthem still came through."
Christina even bragged before the show that she's been singing the national anthem before events since she was 7 years old. Apparently it's indicative of her waning overall popularity that after the initial burst of outrage on Twitter, no one really seems to care anymore. Except us, and that's only because we're paid to be outraged. OUTRAGE!
