Chrysler pays for 'Terminator' sponsorship
While the federal government blows your hard-earned money on saving companies that by all rights should fail in the name of free market capitalism, Chrysler has announced it's worked out a deal to sponsor Terminator: Salvation, Reuters reports. Gee, it's great to know that our leaders gave $4 billion to a company that has failed to pick a winner yet again.
"This spring, Terminator 4 comes out and we will be one of the sponsors," Chrysler director of media Susan Thomson said at the Automotive News World Congress. "We have a following with the Terminator movies and we are going to continue with that."
The deal involves Chrysler paying the makers of the Christian Bale flick to feature Chrysler automobiles, which will be fabulous, except that we thought the movie was set in a post-war apocalyptic setting. That's some great placement there, Chrysler. Financial terms were not disclosed, presumably to keep angry taxpayers from storming corporate headquarters.
