Composer Vince Guaraldi's kids sue for $2 million over 'Charlie Brown Christmas'
Now that Christmas has come and gone, it's time to get back to the courtroom. That's good, see, because Vince Guaraldi's children have sued a record label over royalties for the soundtrack for A Charlie Brown Christmas. God bless us, everyone!
David and Dia Guaraldi, the children of the late composer, filed a suit Dec. 23 in Alameda County claiming the family was underpaid $2 million in royalties for the soundtrack, SF Weekly reports. The case names Fantasy Records as the plaintiff; they were bought by Concord Music Group in 2004.
We have no idea exactly how you would calculate that amount, but the TV special was on twice this year and we bought the album again on iTunes, so it's good to know The Juice* will have somehow contributed to this lawsuit.
