Conan O'Brien may be looking to Fox after Jay Leno debacle
Apparently people care about what happens on NBC at 11:30 p.m. (we watch Stephen Colbert), so we've been wondering what Conan O'Brien thinks about the network giving Jay Leno the time slot back. According to the New York Post he's -- how shall we say? -- non-plussed about the whole idea.
"This level of sh- - -iness was not expected," the source said, referring to NBC's cloak-and-dagger tactics. "He's done a great job for NBC. He moved his entire staff, he moved his family to LA. And five months later, they repay him like this? Conan would be happier somewhere else."
According to TMZ, that other place is Fox, where Conan is rumored to be looking. That's too bad, NBC Chairman Jeff Gaspin said: "My goal is to keep Jay, Conan and Jimmy (Fallon) as our late-night lineup," he told the Post.
But since it looks like NBC originally wanted their poster boy Jerry Seinfeld to do a late night show, what does he think (since everyone is getting asked)?
"What did the network do to Conan? I don't think anyone's preventing people from watching Conan," Seinfeld said. That's easy for him to spout; he's a god over at NBC, and already has a new show called The Marriage Ref to worry about. What's Conan going to do, go back to writing for The Simpsons?
