Conan O'Brien will officiate gay marriage on TBS show
Conan O'Brien will be celebrating his one-year anniversary on TBS next week by shooting his show in New York's Beacon Theatre, but the real draw is something a bit out of the ordinary. Conan will be officiating a gay marriage, which would be a late-night first. Also, it will be the first time we've made a point to watch his show since the premiere last year, instead of stumbling on it accidentally when we meant to turn it to The Daily Show.
New York magazine says O'Brien will be marrying a longtime staffer and his partner, and the marriage will be completely legal. Producers are still deciding what night the wedding will air on your TV, but we'd put money on Thursday night. Because who watches anything on TV on Friday night?
The mag notes it's been 42 years since Tiny Tim and Miss Vicki on The Tonight Show, so this will be pretty fresh for folks. The Juice* wasn't even alive when that happened, so it'll be worth DVRing, at the very least.
