Concert promoter kidnapped when Nas skips concert
Word to the wise to all the concert promoters of the world: If you're taking Nas on as a client, make sure he shows up for gigs paid for in advance by Angolans who will hire armed thugs to kidnap you if the rapper doesn't show up. And you thought tickets for local concerts were expensive.
AllGood Entertainment CEO Patrick Allocco and his son were kidnapped by people hired by Henrique "Riquhino" Miguel, a "concert impresario" who paid Nas $315,000 to perform two shows in Angola on New Year's Eve, TMZ reports. It seems Nas and his opener, Jemiah Jai took the money, but missed their flights and didn't hit the stage, much to Allocco's bad luck.
Miguel wanted his money back, so the kidnappers took the pair into custody at gunpoint until things were resolved. The U.S. Embassy had to spring Allocco and his son and are staying at a local hotel until the issue is cleared. "The hope is that Nas and Jemiah Jai will return all of the monies that were wired to them immediately so that our ransom may be paid and our safe return to the United States may be facilitated," a statement from Allocco read. In other words: Cough up the cash so I can go home!
