Corey Feldman says pedophilia is a major problem in Hollywood
"The number one problem in Hollywood was, and is and always will be pedophilia," he said. "That's the biggest problem for children in this industry. ... It's all done under the radar ... It's the big secret." He said he was "surrounded" when he was acting at 14, but didn't know "until I was old enough to realize what they were and what they wanted and what they were about."
One of the victims of these criminals was pal Corey Haim, who died at age 38 last year after fighting years of drug addiction, a side effect of being abused by what Feldman called a "Hollywood mogul" Feldman wouldn't identify. The pair's battle with predators was broached in their reality show, The Two Coreys. (Watch the interview after the jump.)
"There was a circle of older men that surrounded themselves around this group of kids, and they all had either their own power, or connections to great power in the entertainment industry."
Not that Hollywood is entirely evil, Feldman noted, but the molestation needs to be addressed.
"There's a lot of good people in this industry, but there's also a lot of really, really sick, corrupt people in this industry, and here are people in this industry who have gotten away with (pedophilia) for so long that they feel that they're above the law," Feldman said. "And that's gotta change. That's gotta stop."
