Courteney Cox talks about split from David Arquette
It's been awhile since we heard Courteney Cox and David Arquette were splitting up, but the erstwhile Monica hadn't really opened up about the separation. It's a good thing she knows she'll have to campaign hard to get Cougar Town's ratings up, now that it's been renewed, so she's spilling the beans to Harper's Bazaar.
"The thing is, when you get older, it's more about compatibility than it is about love," The 46-year-old tells the mag about her breakup (watch video below). "I think it's more about needing just a kind of peace and stillness. I'm kind of all over the place, and I need grounding. I want to be calm. I want to change a lot. I want to live not outside but inside. It's nothing with David; it’s just what I’m searching for." No, we wouldn't think David is the one who would contribute to that. But what about the 39-year-old's endless jabbering in the media post-split?
"You can’t really get mad at David because he"s not a malicious person," she says. "He was dealing with things the best way he could. And don’t get me wrong, he was on a show for entertainment. David is smart, and David is also a showman. He knew what he was doing. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but I don’t think he’ll be doing more Howard Stern any time soon."
Well, that's one bit of good news, at least.
