Crystal Harris may have sold out Hugh Hefner with plot to leave him at the altar
Now that Hugh Hefner's wedding to 25-year-old Playboy Playmate Crystal Harris for this Saturday has been called off, all we can do is wonder why these two lovebirds didn't work out. Wait, it's because Crystal was going to ditch Hef at the altar so it could be taped and she could get rich off the reality TV aftermath. Love is so crazy sometimes!
The New York Post's Page Six says that not only was Harris seeing Dr. Phil McGraw's son Jordan before the wedding, which we've noted in The Juice* before, Crystal had actually planned to embarass the heck out of Hef in front of 300 people at Saturdays's wedding.
"Crystal wanted to ditch Hef at the altar. Her plan was to walk up the aisle and say she couldn't go through with it," a source tells the Post. "The wedding was to be filmed for a reality special, and her refusal to marry him would be a sensation. She was looking for a tie-in deal of around $500,000 for the exclusive 'I ditched Hef at the altar' interview. While there was interest, Crystal didn't get an offer anywhere near half a million."
TMZ noted that Crystal was actually angry because she wanted a bigger weekly allowance and a music career, neither of which she was getting from an 85-year-old man.
Harris' manager, Michael Blakey said the Post report wasn't true and Harris wasn't cheating on Hef: "I have no idea what happened. All I know is that it was an amicable breakup." Meanwhile, be sure to laugh at the July issue of Playboy, which comes out Friday, because it features Harris on the cover with the headline, "America's Princess: Introducing Mrs. Crystal Hefner." Oops. Laugh, but don't buy it, in case that was the true goal of this whole fiasco to begin with.
