Dave Chappelle may be getting a new show online
If you've been morose and out of sorts ever since Dave Chappelle disappeared from Comedy Central, take heart, because he'll be back on the airwaves soon. Well, he'll be on the Internet airwaves, in any event. And it's gonna cost you.
"Dave Chappelle’s going back to TV," a source told TheDaily.com. "It’s not for a network. It’s for Netflix or Crackle or some other subscription service." Ohhhh, so he's going to do the Howard Stern thing, but for the Internet. Gotcha. Hey, we'd pay for stuff like the Black White Supremacist.
There's no word whether any prospective deal with Netflix, Crackle of Hulu would come anywhere near the $50 million he was supposed to get from Comedy Central, but there are clues he's doing some new standup. That's the word from a source at Hollywood's Laugh Factory, anyway.
"It’s all new," the source said. "He started off talking about his career and what he’s going to do now, because someone like him can't do Dancing with the Stars. He's obviously working on some new project."
We'll have to wait and see if it's a great new serial comedy show, or just another FunnyorDie.com. Being funny only half the time isn't enough to get our hard-earned dollars these days.
