David Cassidy pleads not guilty to DUI in St. Lucie County
Former Partridge Family star David Cassidy pleaded not guilty to a DUI charge in a St. Lucie County courtroom Tuesday, claiming that video released Monday of him bumbling through FHP sobriety tests doesn't prove anything. Well, other than maybe you should be careful how you act when cops pull you over.
Cassidy was not present in court Tuesday morning, having his lawyer submitting his not guilty plea in writing, TMZ reports. Cassidy, who claims he had taken only pain pills for a bad back on the night of his arrest, faces up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.
Video of the incident was conveniently released right before the hearing, showing authorities question the 60-year-old after he was pulled over near Okeechobee Road on Nov. 4 when his Mercedes swerved off the road several times. Watch that video below to see the highway patrolman's mounting frustrations with Cassidy build to the breaking point. Fun!
