Demi Lovato reveals she's cut herself, thrown up since rehab
Singer Demi Lovato discussed her bulimia and cutting problems Tuesday night on her MTV special, Stay Strong: Demi Lovato, telling SuChin Pak that even though she's been through treatment, she's still struggling. As if three months in a treatment center could magically fix 19 years of emotional disorders.
"I cannot tell you that I have not thrown up since treatment," Lovato said. "I can not tell you that I have not cut myself since treatment. I'm not perfect. This is a daily battle that I will face the rest of my life." During the show she was shown returning to the rehab center she checked into back in November to talk to other patients. The fight won't be over anytime soon, she added.
"I just remember being 12, 13 and going through these issues alone," she said. "I didn't really have a celebrity or anybody in the public eye to look at and say well, 'if she got through this, then so can I.' I'm not fixed. This is a daily battle. But I continue to work my butt off because now I wanna be a legitimate role model."
