Did Mary J. Blige and friends take steroids?
The Times Union of Albany said law enforcement sources claimed Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, Timbaland, Wyclef Jean and even Tyler Perry may have received or used performance-enhancing substances. What, like tea with honey or a lumberjack breakfast? No, things like steroids or human growth hormone.
Those same sources say evidence doesn’t indicate those celebs broke the law, but investigatos are focusing on doctors, pharmacists and clinics that may have provided the drugs. And wouldn’t you know it, there’s a Florida connection.
Signature Pharmacy of Orlando is the main focus of the probe by the Albany district attorney, with 10 defendants pleading guilty to various charges. The probe claims Signature was at the center of a collection of businesses and doctors that illegally wrote prescriptions for steroids. They were raided almost a year ago, with the owners and operators awaiting trial in Albany.
Records show the celebrities named received ’roids and hGH, the paper said, with the specific example of Blige ordering the human growth hormone Jentropin and Oxandrolone, an anabolic steroid, to be sent to her at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
“Mary J. Blige has never taken any performance enhancing illegal steroids,” spokeswoman Karynne Tencer told the New York Daily News. Time for all the Juice*heads (the good kind) to read up on the Mitchell Report.
