Dior fires designer John Galliano from his own label, too

rsz_tbd-johngalliano041811.jpgIt's gone from bad to worse for anti-Semitic fashion icon John Galliano, who, after being fired from Dior when he was caught on tape saying he loved Hitler and other despicable things, has now been canned from his own namesake label. Why, just because it's 91 percent owned by Dior?

A statement from Dior to Women's Wear Daily says Galliano is out as creative director of the label, which "is not an immediate priority," although the name will carry on in some form in the immediate future. "It is understood the in-house design team at John Galliano, which shares members with Dior's, will be charged with producing collections at a house prized for bias-cut dresses, newspaper prints and retro-tinged tailoring. A pre-spring collection is already said to be in the works."

Galliano was arrested back in February for making prejudiced remarks about Jews at a bar in Paris. He's pleaded not guilty to violating hate speech laws and gone to rehab for a month for something or other, but we really don't think Johnny will be back for quite some time.
