Director David O. Russell accused of groping transgender niece's breasts
Oscar-nominated director David O. Russell, who has made such great movies as Three Kings and The Fighter, is being investigated over a possible incestual groping of his 19-year-old niece, who is currently undergoing gender reassignment. Of course, this allegedly happened in Florida.
The Broward Sheriff's office says the 53-year-old was working out with Nichole Peloquin (nee Nicholas) at the gym in the Deerfield Beach Embassy Suites on Dec. 30 and offered "to help ... with ab exercises," The Smoking Gun reports. While Russell, who is Peloquin's mother's adopted brother, didn't touch Peloquin's as-yet-intact private parts, he did ask Nicole about her pending gender reassignment and hormone therapy, put his hands under Nicole's top "and felt both breasts," the report reads.
Peloquin told cops that while this made her uncomfortable, she "did not ask Russell to stop at any time" and he soon left the gym. Russell told deputies he confirmed talking to Peloquin about the pending surgery and breast enhancements, and that she was "acting very provactive towards him." Russell says Nicole allowed him to feel her breasts and "asked him to 'pinky swear'" about letting him feel her up.
Russell noted Nicole didn't ask him to stop and is "always causing drama since the transgender transformation and has become very provocative and seductive." But man, that's your niece, in any case.
The sheriff's office took the report on Jan. 3, filing it as a simple battery, but no arrests were made due to a lack of physical evidence. A sheriff's spokesperson told TSG that Peloquin could seek charges with the help of the state attorney's office.
