Disney still looking to make sequel to 'Tron: Legacy'
It doesn't really matter if you thought 2010's Tron: Legacy was good or not, because it's back on track to have a sequel. Disney has moved so far along in the process, they are working on securing a writer to provide returning director Joseph Kosinski a finished script. That's what happens when you have a leadership shakeup at the studio and make $400 million worldwide.
Alan Horn, who took over Disney Studios in June, is fast-tracking the project and pursuing writer Jesse Wigutow to create Tron 3, or whatever it ends up being called, the Hollywood Reporter says. David DiGilio wrote an early version of the script, but has since left. Wigutow is currently working on an adaptation of Peter and the Starcatchers for Disney.
There is absolutely zero information on the plot, but since it's all set on the Internet, they can no doubt bring back Jeff Bridges and Garrett Hedlund if they want. We recommend Olivia Wilde, too. Start working on that, Disney.
