DMX will have to stay in Arizona prison longer over infractions
All you Ruff Ryders fans keeping your fingers crossed for DMX's release from prison on Wednesday, put those cakes and gallons of ice cream back in the fridge. The rapper is going to be stuck in the pokey for at least another week after a spate of disciplinary problems. You thought he was being nice in there?
Earl Simmons went to prison in Yuma, Ariz., for a probation violation back in January and was due to be sprung after serving seven months of a yearlong sentence, but infractions including smoking, drug possession, failing a drug test and being disrespectful or disorderly are adding to his sentence, TMZ reports. The 40-year-old won't be out until July 19 now.
It's probably safe to assume the Arizona prison system isn't a safe haven for criminal rehabilitation -- although the Las Vegas Sun concluded a couple years ago that the state had the nation's lowest recidivism rate. We'll have to see on which side of that equation DMX falls.
