Docs say Michael Douglas could lose his voice
No details have leaked about Michael Douglas' battle with a tumor in his throat since the announcement was made on Monday, but that won't stop the pointless medical speculation by doctors who won't treat the patient. For example, the U.K.'s Sun says Douglas could possibly lose his voice.
Dr. Kenneth Hu of New York's Beth Israel Medical Center says the treatment of eight weeks of radiation and chemotherapy has been known to affect the larynx, while Dr. Eric Genden at Mount Sinai Medical Center concludes there's enough proof that this is not going to be a pleasant experience for the 65-year-old actor.
"You wouldn't treat a benign tumor with radiation, so most definitely this is a malignant tumor," Genden told the paper. Yet another warning to mind the smoking and drinking, kids.
