Dozens injured in Oslo for surprise Justin Bieber concert
It's time for another edition of Justin Bieber fans going wild, this time in Oslo, Norway, where about 88 teenaged girls were hurt when unruly Beliebers rushed around the city Wednesday chasing everyone's favorite 18-year-old. Can't these kids just watch him on the Internet like normal people?
At least 14 girls ended up being transported to hospitals for injuries worse than cuts, scrapes and dehydration when Bieber arrived in the city to play a mere four songs during a secret show announced on Twitter for his Around the World TV special (airing June 21), TMZ and Norwegian newspaper Aftenposten reported. ABout 5,000 or 6,000 fans became unruly as they jockeyed for position for the show, with people floating up in kayaks, rafts and paddleboards to even get a chance to hear the show.
"I have already called on the Emergency Planning Agency to examine the entire event from the planning stage to its implementation," Oslo Mayor Fabian Stang said. "We have to find out what went wrong and why it happened." He said he even had to hid behind a tree to keep from being trampled in the stampede. Way to lead, Fabian.
The city government onsidered calling a state of emergency, prompting Bieber to ask fans to chill out, tweeting "for the show to happen u must all listen to the police. we are all concerned for your safety and i want what is best for u. please listen" We see how that all worked out.
