Dr. Phil McGraw sued for allegedly brainwashing woman
Dr. Phil McGraw has been hit with a lawsuit in L.A., with the TV guru being accused of false imprisonment, practicing without a license, indecent exposure, battery and fraud, among other things. Just think how extra special of an episode that will be!
Shirley Rae Dieu, a 56-year-old California woman, says she was in Dr. Phil's office in 2007 when she was prevented from leaving and "forced to be in the same room with a completely live naked man while he exposed his entire naked body, genitals and all," People quotes her filing.
She says that she was kept from eating and sleeping, was "brainwashed" and "subjected to edited tapings depicting her as a different personality other than her own." She also says that on Oct. 9, 2007, he touched her left breast during a therapy session, the mag reports. Another woman is joining her suit, filed in L.A. Superior Court.
"(Dr. Phil) is nothing like what he's like on TV," she told People. "You have no idea what I and this other woman went through."
We don't know whether she should take this filing too seriously, though. Besides having sued a hospital in 2002 and a car dealership in 2007, Dieu is going to be her own attorney, and the mag says the filing is rife with misspellings and grammatical errors worthy of our unnamed Pasco County high school student from last week.
