Duchovny says 'X-Files 2' is on the way
All you Fox Mulder and Dana Scully fans out there can start to get a little excited; David Duchovny has confirmed that a second X-Files movie is in the works, and both he and Gillian Anderson will be there.
“I’m supposed to see a script next week,” he said during promotional work for his new Showtime show, Californication. “I’m actually supposed to see it next week.”
Series creator Chris Carter is going to direct and write (with Frank Spotnitz) the film, Duchovny said, with a shooting schedule that may start in the fall. “I think it’s November for a summer (2008) release,” he said.
But don’t break out your mythology guides just yet — the movie is supposed to be a one-off story. That’s good, because we have a hard time remembering how the series ended in 2002.
