Ed O'Neill says Sofia Vergara should have won Emmy instead of Jane Lynch
Ed O'Neill knows something about sitcoms, having played Al Bundy on Married ... With Children for 10 years, so you've got to think he knows what he's talking about when he says Glee's Jane Lynch didn't deserve to win an Emmy for best acress. Wait, what?
"I love Jane, honestly I do," O'Neill told TV Guide. "I’m dying to star in one of Christopher Guest’s movies alongside her, but I don’t think she should have gotten the Emmy for that part. (Sue Sylvester) is just a one-note character."
Well then, Mr. TV Critic, who should have won, then? Oh, right, his costar, Sofia Vergara: "Sofia is just so, so funny. I don’t think people realize how hilarious she is. She’s so sharp with her wit, it’s amazing." Not that he's biased or anything, after using his role as an old white guy married to a young Latina mom to propel himself to a second act on the small screen. Other interesting, unrelated trivia -- he has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, so don't argue with him.
