Elizabeth Taylor's family holds private funeral Thursday
Elizabeth Taylor's funeral was conducted quickly and quietly on Thursday, a day after she died, TMZ reports. She was interred at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, Calif., the same place her good friend Michael Jackson was put to rest.
Rabbi Jerry Cutler was reported to have officiated the burial, which was attended by about four dozen family members, according to Glendale Police. Cutler has quite the resume, conducting services for Milton Berle, Shelley Winters, Walter Matthau, Red Buttons and Jan Murray, TMZ says. There was no procession for the event, but news crews did capture some aerial shots, and photogs saw limos pulling into the cemetery for the 2 p.m. funeral.
The site notes it meant that Taylor was not entombed in the crypt next to her parents at Westwood Village Memorial Park Cememtery. Who wouldn't rather spend time with MJ, Clark Gable, Jean Harlow, Walt Disney and Nat King Cole at Forest Lawn?
