Ellen Pompeo will get a break on Grey's Anatomy
If you've been wondering if Meredith and Derek will be staying together on Grey's Anatomy, first, shame on you for not having more worthwhile things to be concerned with. Secondly, yes, they'll be okay for awhile, but only because Ellen Pompeo is about to have a baby in real life.
Entertainment Weekly says that because of the package being delivered, the relationship is going to be treated fairly lightly at the start of the season.
“I think we would be irresponsible writers if we didn’t give a woman who’s seven-months pregnant a little less time on her feet,” executive producer Krista Vernoff says. “She’s waddling around seven-months pregnant about to push a baby out of her body. We have a responsibility to alleviate her screen time a little bit.”
That's a whole lot better than stuffing then-mom-to-be Chyler Leigh on screen last season and hiding her behind gurneys and dining room tables, then explaining it away as a nervous eating habit.
