EW names Taylor Swift its Entertainer of the Year
Entertainment Weekly has named Top 40 sweetheart Taylor Swift its Entertainer of the Year, making the 20-year-old the youngest-ever recipient of that honor. Why? Just because she won four Grammys, made Valentine's Day and debuted a third album after that Kanye West fisasco? Please.
The singer is gracious, as always, but tells the mag she finds it amusing when people think her songs are about the likes of ex-boyfriends Taylor Lautner, Joe Jonas or John Mayer: "Sometimes I would laugh because I would see it in print and it would say, 'This song, which is written about her ex, so-and-so…' And they would write about it as if it was fact," she says. "The fact is, I haven’t ever confirmed that any song is about any particular person. There’s something kind of freeing about that. As far as I’m concerned, it’s all still up in the air."
Oh honey, quit thinking there's this great air of mystery. When you write a song about falling for an older man who's kind of a dog, we all know that's John Mayer. Only a teenager could think that was sly. Looking at the EW cover, however, we do have to admit that Swift is looking better as she finally grows into her face -- it's easy to forget how young she is, with all the overexposure she's getting.
