A few movie bites for lunch

Ethan Hawke has signed on to star in Daybreakers, a futuristic film about vampires enslaving the human race, the Hollywood Reporter says. It’s also known by the title Prices at the Pump 2007.

Hilary Swank is getting in on the bloodsucker action, signing to play a woman hunted by vamps in Fangland, the New York Post writes. The toothy actress sure has the chops for it.

• The Hollywood Reporter also says Grindhouse director Robert Rodriguez is in talks to direct a live-action version of The Jetsons and a big-screen adaptation of Land of the Lost. Because we’ve learned nothing from The Flintstones movie.

• Advance screenings of Warner Bros. movies like Ocean’s Thirteen and the next Harry Potter flick have been canceled after the studio accused that market of being at the forefront of the piracy market, the AP reports. And we all know that nobody can carry a video camera into a theater in New York.
