Flight attendant sues Oprah Winfrey over sex allegations
Oprah Winfrey's legal bills are the only thing that will be mile high, if a former flight attendant on her private jet is telling the truth. Us reports that Corrine Gehrls is suing for damages after denying that she had sex with the pilot aboard a flight.
Gehrls denies claims by fellow flight attendants Myron Gooch and Kirby Bumpus that Gehrls and chief pilot Terry Pansing got it on during a flight in which Oprah and other passengers were snoozing after taking some sleeping pills. Both Gehrls and Pansing passed lie detector tests but weren't rehired, according to the lawsuit, which seeks $75,000 in damages.
It's worth noting that Bumpus, one of the accusers, is the daughter of Winfrey's best friend Gayle King, and that Oprah is her godmother. We don't know why she might have it in for Gehrls, but since $75k is pocket change for Harpo Inc., it may do to simply settle and avoid the legal fees.
