Fox considering Adam Lambert to replace Jennifer Lopez on 'American Idol'
How big is the news that Jennifer Lopez doesn't want a third go-around at American Idol? The producers of the show are considering bringing on former contestant Adam Lambert to be a judge. That's right, a contender not good enough to win the competition just three years ago becoming a judge shows just how meta this show is going to be.
"They have been talking about Adam for over a month," a source told E! News. "He personifies the show, and will be a popular choice right from the start. He knows what it's like to be on the receiving end of the judges' comments, he has a human touch, and they know they can't go wrong if they bring him on. He would be able to bring a unique perspective to the show. People love him." Imagine the makeup tips, too!
But that doesn't mean Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler will be back, either. The source swears up and down the entire show will "have a new look." If there's a show at all. Fox is still trying to bring J.Lo back, but it looks like money is a big problem.
"As of this moment in time, we are still in negotiations as we are with everybody," producer Nigel Lythgoe said. "Everything is up in the air. There will be changes for sure, but nothing that stops it from what it is, which is an out and out talent show."
Maybe they should just stop at 11 seasons and call it a day. We all know it went downhill after Simon Cowell left. Besides, there can't be anyone left in America that hasn't already auditioned and been turned down at this point.
