'Fraggle Rock' movie has a pair of writers now
The movie version of Juice* childhood fave Fraggle Rock is moving along, starting with a pair of writers being picked. Hope you liked Rango, because that team is on the case.
James Byrkit, one of the movie's three writers, is working with Alex Manugian, the actor who voiced Rango character Spoons, the Hollywood Reporter says. Manugian used to be a Cartoon Network executive, so he's had some experience with kids shows before.
Jim Henson's Fraggle Rock franchise has been bounced around among studios for years, but this version has set up shop at New Regency last year. The success of The Muppets probably emboldened producers looking to make another musical puppet movie from the 1980s. Cross your fingers.
