Frances Bean Cobain refutes Courtney Love's accusations against Dave Grohl
We haven't been keeping you up to speed on the recent drama the past week or so between Courtney Love accusing Dave Grohl on Twitter of chasing her 19-year-old daughter Frances Bean Cobain, mostly because A) the allegations were so weird it never seemed plausible, B) it's Courtney Love we're talking about here, and C) we can't write about this stuff without getting sad about Kurt Cobain's suicide. But now Frances is fighting back, so that's worth mentioning.
"While I'm generally silent on the affairs of my biological mother, her recent tirade has taken a gross turn," she said in a statement, according to Stereogum. "I have never been approached by Dave Grohl in more than a platonic way. I'm in a monogamous relationship and very happy. Twitter should ban my mother."
Love had written that Grohl had a "romney rape thing about him" when around her daughter and named his own daughter Violet after a ' song (it's really Grohl's maternal grandmother). She also ranted about Grohl selling the rights to Smells Like Teen Spirit to the Muppets, swearing Kurt would have never done such a thing. Of course not; Cobain would be too busy guest-starring on Yo Gabba Gabba!.
