'Futurama' returning with 26 new episodes
In the best news we've heard since learning that Bar Refaeli just might be single, Comedy Central is resurrecting Matt Groening's Futurama for 26 new half-hour episodes, the AP reports. Sweet zombie Jesus!
It looks like those four feature-length DVDs that have been released in the past year have done their job, since there have otherwise been no new adventures from New New York since the original series ended its Fox run in 2003 after four seasons and 72 episodes.
The new episodes will be produced by Groening and David x. Cohen, and are expected to air on Comedy Central in mid-2010. We just hope the series doesn't wallow its way into mediocrity like Family Guy has.
