FX buys Charlie Sheen sitcom 'Anger Management'

Charlie Sheen's new sitcom has found a home: His in-development vehicle Anger Management has been picked up by FX for 10 episodes. In case you were tired of seeing good TV like Sons of Anarchy and American Horror Story on that network.

FX has a deal to order 90 more under a syndication deal that gives Sheen a "significant ownership stake in the series," Entertainment Weekly reports. The show is based on the 2003 movie from Joe Roth's Revolution Studios starring Jack Nicholson as a wingnut therapist; the sitcom will be written by The Drew Carey Show's Bruce Helford.

"We think that Bruce Helford, Joe Roth and Charlie Sheen have come up with a wonderful, hilarious vehicle for Charlie's acting talents — and a character we are very much looking forward to seeing him play," FX president and GM John Landgraf said in a statement.  "Two and a Half Men has been an outstanding component of FX’s schedule for the past 14 months, and we have every confidence that Anger Management will soon be as well." Because hey, what could go wrong?
